What makes a good audition? In a typical audition the focus is obviously on your vocal performance. And yet, the presentation of an aria or a song goes far beyond just the singing of it. The success of an audition depends on your overall performance not just the singing.
A coaching tailored to your needs, experience and expectations might be about the "small" things such as "What to do with my hands?" and "Where to look?" which can make the all important difference to your audition. It might be about the interpretation of a song, finding a character to it and creating different colours for each verse. Or, it might be about a big opera scene and all the drama and emotion.
An aria from an opera is more than just a piece of music, and it has proven to be very helpful to explore the depth of the character as well as the context of the scene to add that little "extra" to your performance that will distinguish it from all the others.
